I just got setup with some dish stuff and went to read my card. I've got a rom3 with rev 380 and no back door. Should I just file it away or are there any tricks to open it yet??

What is the next recommendation?? MY ird doesn't have jtag support either.

well you have to choices a dealer can unlock it or you can go with the g2 card, g2 is an excellent choice,.. i would stay away from avr's charlie is having his way with them..

What's the G2? Is that another charlie card or one of those aftermarket cards?

Go to easybuy2000.com they have the guardian2 for sell it tells you what it is and what you need to get up and going.

i wouldnt recommend that site niether, if you need assistance with the g2 i'm not sure if the advertisers here have them, but i do have a highly reccomended site, by the way the prices of g2's will be going up on friday reason being there the perfect emulation (stand alone ) for charlie now...the cost will go up to 150.00 to 175.00 by dealers and suppliers so i would find one now if posible..

g2 is a white smart card can not be looped in anyway, has its own private software and also its own private exe to load..

Thanks for the info. It sounds like a great deal, but I've got a Dave system running now for nothing. I got this Dish system and figured I'd give it a try. I guess I'll stick to reading for now. My friend comes across stuff all the time. We are going to find another one soon I'm sure.

You should have checked out the EVU site but anyways, There is a program to Unlock Rev 378. Go to a local Dealer to Unlock the ROM 3 and save yourself the trouble of spending even more $ for a new product.

There is a Blocker program out there called "CodeGen 1.02", to prevent the Card from being locked.

I've heard of the "Anti AVR" so in that sence using "Plastics (ROM 2 or 3)" has the upper hand!

Anyway, you'll need a JTAG and a JKEY program but if you can do a dump on the card then do it. You should expect Boxkeys, IRD # and other information. Use the Duel ISO 3.6 crystal programmer.

NOTE: JTAGS depend on what reciever model, and sometimes JKEY program.

Hey whats with everyone reccomending a Jtag? I thought that greendss stated that his ird does not support it? G2 is no good w/o keys

Spend the $15 bucks and get your cam unlocked.

Ya and do a dump with the Duel ISO 3.65 and Freetalk 12c or whatever is used. You'll need to sub, get the ROM 3 open, put a blocker etc, you can find this information in the Resource page.

Even if there is no JTAG port there is a TSOP and Keys so rip the IRD open.

Thanks Dish....I see someone reads before speaking. I am looking into a new ird w/ open card. I have never dealt with a dealer for anything other that programmers and I plan on keeping it that way. I can't just run down to the local dealer and I don't trust too many people.

Especially with different types of Amega's and which ones work lol.

You think you have a problem going to the local shop. Your not in Canada and you can test - - - cameless without the risk of the current law!

You can still pull Box, IRD, TSOP with your current IRD but it's risky. I accidentally blew one up with a JTAG, my conclusion is that the computer I used had to much voltage......
