When I try to do a file transfer with the usb , I have lots of problems . YES , the files are unpacked !! I get 0ne of 2 notifications . Either it says " file invalid " or wrong file version " ( I'm paraphrasing those notes ) . I try to enter keys manually , but , that doesn't work either !! . I go to advanced then enter " 8282 " as quickly as I can , but , nothing !!! .
What I'm working on is an 8100 , model # 4602c146 , H/W ver.1.00.00 , S/W ver. 11.15.8A .
The file that I'm trying to put in is " CS8100_11177F.sgn " . on the usb screen it says " : _sw_code.sgn : invalid , and : _ch_data.sgn: detected .

I've been at this for over 3 hrs , now . I think I'm missing something , but , I don't know what . I have come to the conclusion that I need some serious help . :cry:

Rename on USB: _sw_code
then on tv screen put USB to STB

Thanks,Rafiul , Ialso found that info on another forum when I got home . We have to add ".sgn " at the end of the file name change .
I'm going over to my friend's house to check it out .

It's funny but sometimes you have to rename the files "_sw_code.sgn " and other times it seems that windows automatically adds the file extension ".sgn " and thusly it's recognised as "_sw_code.sgn.sgn " by the box which gives you the error message "invalid" or whatever. You have to experiment with it and see if it needs the extension or not. I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but this is what I've had to do to get mine working. Of course the "CS8100" is the "red headed stepchild" when it comes to support. We generally get our fixes 2-3 days after even the other coolsat boxes (which still lag behind the viewsat and a few other brands), and we have to be happy to get a day or two of use, before the next ECM comes through to start the process over.
